The Income Tax Department is probing Pawar and his family members under the alleged tax evasion and Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act (PBPTA), 1988. Last year, the department cited and provisionally attached four properties.

According to the department, unaccounted and benami transactions worth Rs 184 crore were unearthed in the searches conducted at 70 places.

Sharad Pawar

NCP chief

Praful Patel

NCP. former union minister

Agencies: ED

The ED had probed a firm linked to Praful Patel and his family members in a terror financing case involving former gangster Iqbal Memon alias Iqbal Mirchi. According to ED documents, which ET accessed, on February 21, 2007, Millennium Developers signed a deed for a unit at Mumbai’s CJ House with “tenants” Hazra Memon, Iqbal’s widow and their children Asif and Junaid. .

Ashok Chavan

Congress. PWD Minister

Agencies: CBI, IT and ED

Both the ED and the IT are probing Chavan’s alleged role in the Adarsh CHS scam. Recently, the IT department had searched the premises of a cabinet minister in connection with a loan given to a sugar factory. The agency had also raided builders linked to the minister on charges of alleged tax evasion.

Hassan Mushrif

NCP. Minister of Rural Development and Labor in the Government of Maharashtra

Agencies: MCA

The MCA is probing a Pune-based sugar factory in which Mushrif’s family members are directors. The probe reportedly revealed that the Pune-based Sir Senapati Santaji Ghorpade Sugar Factory Limited, controlled by Mushrif’s family members, allegedly violated corporate governance norms and indulged in fraud and alleged irregularities. Rajat Consumer Services Private Limited became a shareholder of the company in 2012-13 and subscribed 11.8 million shares valued at Rs.10. However, the profit and loss statement filed by the company showed that revenue from operations stood at Rs 4.33 lakh, the findings showed.

Nawab Malik

NCP

Agencies: ED, NIA

In February, the ED arrested the Maharashtra State Minority Affairs Minister in a money laundering case involving 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim. According to the agency, Malik and Ibrahim’s late sister Haseena Parkar “planned to grab a property (in suburban Mumbai)”. Malik took control of Solidus Investments Pvt Ltd, controlled by Parkar’s associate, becoming a tenant of the property under investigation. The ED had told the court that Malik then colluded with Parkar and 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Sardar Khan and took illegal possession of the property.

Other prominent MVA leaders being probed by central agencies include Pratap Sarnaik, Bhavna Gawli and Yashwant and Yamini Jadhav.

Tiger Woods is mastering the Augusta National golf course through feeling and faith

Tiger Woods couldn’t hold his old form when he walked through a dense garden of patrons at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday. After all, the 15-time major champion hasn’t played competitive golf since the Masters in November 2020. It is difficult for an athlete to rediscover his rhythm even after a month away from the sport.

Just ask Bryson DeChambeau, a mad scientist trying to make a career out of experimentation. The world number 19 was injured after a missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in late January. Since returning to the course in March, DeChambeau has failed to reach the knockout stages of the WGC matchplay event and missed the cut at the Texas Open. On Friday, the Dallas guy worked 80. Through 36 holes in 12-overs (76-80), DeChambeau had a good eight strokes from making the cut (4-over) at The Masters.

It is common. Even the most elite athletes take time to get back in form after a short break from the sport. In the case of Texans it was just a month. Woods is seventeen months away. Not far He spent three months in a hospital bed after severing his tibia and ankle in a horrific accident in February last year. But it appears that magic hasn’t left the bag for Tiger Woods. He started the week with 71 which was appreciated worldwide mainly because of how unimaginable such a result seemed on paper.

In the case of Woods though, the fairy tale ends with neither ink nor paper. Woods made another miraculous recovery on Friday. After four bogeys in the first five holes, a missed cut seemed like the most common and obvious result. But there shouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary about Woods. always. “I told Joey that, hey, we’ve got a lot of holes to play. It’s going to be tough all day, so let’s get it back to par for the day somehow,” Woods said. If I could just be even for the day, I thought it would be a great comeback.”

But how do you do that when you’re rusty, the conditions are tough and you’re back a year and a half away from the game? “It feels more for distances and shot shapes. I don’t have to think too much about what I should be doing.

I can just get up there and feel it and play using my hands instead of just kind of thinking, well I need to do this, it’s to hit this shot, is Huh?” explained Woods. If that comment doesn’t seem obvious to you, don’t break the chair. Apparently, even the mysterious seems obvious to the genius living inside Woods’ devastated body. “Usually I see it, feel it, hit my number. I haven’t played a lot of tournaments in the recent past, so it’s gotten a little worse, but I’m starting to come around. I loved how I came back today and found myself (back on board). I could have easily ruled myself out of the tournament today, but I kept myself in it.” Despite all the emotion for his shots, Woods still had to find a way to get his putter in a good spot. “I was able to practice and get my touch, practice my short game, put in a lot of putts, which was great. Start watching the brakes again. I have lived in Florida. I haven’t played the Tour in forever, so we don’t see a break,” Woods elaborated on the challenges after the long break.

“Start seeing a 10-foot break, you have to get used to it, and I haven’t played a lot of competitive golf. So it takes a while to get used to it, but eventually I got my eyes back. Jack Nicklaus, 46, as Woods is now, six strokes behind the half-stage in 1986. He shot 69-65 to pick up his sixth green jacket on a legendary weekend at Augusta. Cut to the present – world No. 1 Scotty Scheffler at eight-under Runs into the distance with a superb 67 for a five-stroke midway lead. Woods was one over. Can he find a way back with nine shots? The Florida resident is also chasing down the sixth jacket and thinks it’s Very likely.” Tomorrow (Saturday) will be a big day.

It’s going to be good. It’s going to be difficult. The wind must be blowing again and there are tough scoring conditions. I have to go out there and take over my business and get in the red and get that ninth on Sunday,” suggested an optimistic Woods. “If you’re within five or six of that back nine going on Sunday, you have a chance. That’s why I need to get there.” Forgive him for making it so easy. After all, he is Tiger Woods. Despite the seemingly impossible suggestion, consider it a caveat. The tiger is on the hunt. And for the hunter, the field is just hunting.

digital india act: Government to roll out new Digital India Act soon: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that the government will soon implement the Digital India Act, a new policy for the digital ecosystem and cyberspace in the country.

Chandrashekhar was speaking at the inauguration of Bennett University’s Center for Law and Computing Technology on Saturday. He said cyberspace is currently governed by the IT Act, which is a 22-year-old law, and a more contemporary act is needed.

Chandrasekhar said, “22 years in the field of the Internet is about four or five centuries.”

“There is a need for a new contemporary legislation that is of global standard and is in line with India’s ambition in the coming decades, in all respects – technology and innovation and in all aspects of the technology ecosystem,” he said.

He said that the government is focusing on creating enabling framework and policies through a process of public consultation.

He said that the Data Protection Bill presented by the Joint Committee of Parliament has been studied by the Ministry and the Government.

“We have just unveiled the National Data Governance Framework and Policy which is going through public consultation. We will soon put forward cyber security policies and guidelines, and very soon down the road, we will be working on a new Digital India Act , which will be a new policy for the digital ecosystem and cyberspace in India,” he said.

He also said that the Big Tech platform and all platforms that provide online products and services are accountable to the citizens who are the users.

“I think the challenges in jurisprudence[and]the regulation of cyberspace are substantial,” Chandrasekhar said. “They range from informational security and privacy on one end to ethical use of technologies like AI at the other end of the spectrum, then you have the challenges of openness and competition, especially in the context of Monopoly and Duopoly compared to the big tech platforms. App Store and Search Engines.

He said there are other challenges regarding the increasing trend of Internet weaponization, especially since a large proportion of the economy and economic activity will be dependent on and connected to the Internet.

The Government is clear that the Internet and technology should be defined by openness, security, trust and accountability to those who use these platforms or use these services and products.

“We are very clearly working on developing a jurisprudence policy framework that addresses the issue that the Internet and the technology space should remain open,” he said.

After the pandemic, Chandrashekhar said there is an additional opportunity as the world is looking at India as a reliable partner in the digital electronics value chain as well as in the digital services value chain.

“You can see from the performance of IT companies over the past year, now growing at an unprecedented 15-plus percent growth rate, that the digitization world demand is being met by Indian entrepreneurs, Indian startups and Indian companies. ,” said Chandrashekhar.

Mehbooba Mufti has lost people’s trust, says former PDP leader

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) veteran Surinder Choudhary, who was the party’s state general secretary till last year, joined the BJP this week and termed PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti as two-pronged. The former MLC was credited with winning the Hindu-majority Nowshera seat to the PDP in the District Development Council (DDC) elections and was considered the Hindu face of the PDP in Jammu. In an interview with Prerna Katiyar, Choudhary said that Mufti says one thing when she is in power and another when she is not. Part:

So why did you join BJP?

I had left PDP a year ago. I was the general secretary of the party. When (former CM, PDP founder and Mehbooba Mufti’s father) Mufti (Mohammed Sayeed) sahib was there, he cared about party workers. Ever since Mehbooba ji took over, the workers started leaving one by one because they don’t care and ignore the leaders of Jammu. She focuses only on Kashmir; All his statements are anti-Jammu and anti-national. It hurt me because I had to fight nowshera in Jammu. It was because of me that she was able to win a Hindu dominated place like Nowshera. In 2019, when Article 370 was abrogated and she went to jail, I took forward the party’s cause. In the DDC elections, in Nowshera, we defeated the BJP candidate and made the PDP president win the PDP mandate – we are talking of a Hindu majority area here which was a remarkable achievement. But when she came out she ignored us and forced us to leave the party.

Why did I join BJP? Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a critical phase. People have lost faith and there is a need to unite Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh; There is a need for brotherhood among Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Buddhists. I realized that only BJP can do this. Modi-Shah is the only strong leadership now. They have the guts to solve the issues of the region. I want to reiterate that I have neither joined for personal gain nor for political gain.

What are the major issues in your field?

Rajouri and Poonch are some of the most backward regions. A lot needs to be done on power supply, roads, schools and hospitals. We don’t even have a four lane road. There are good prospects from tourism point of view. Despite the high potential, there is no industry in the region.

Didn’t you protest when Article 370 was abrogated?

No, that’s not true. I said okay you have removed 370 but like in Himachal Pradesh and other states where people from outside cannot buy land or take local jobs, similar security measures need to be given in the area. necessary so that local interests are taken care of. Of.

So, are you in favor of cancellation?

Well it was bound to happen. It (repeal) was just a formality. But I think there is a need to win the trust of the local people – their lands should not be grabbed and their jobs should not be taken over by outsiders.

You were seen as the Hindu face of PDP and now you are part of BJP. But the Jats of your area are unhappy with the process of delimitation as their area of residence is being marked for Scheduled Castes. Are you happy with the way the commission works?

I know Suchetgarh in RS Pura is Jat dominated and is now reserved for SC (Scheduled Castes). But this is the work of an independent body and what can we do about it. Something similar happened in Ramgarh. What is against Jats in this region is that their population is scattered. Their areas have gone for reservation, hence there is resentment. However, they have the right to express their views. I think Jats are with BJP. What can the commission do if the population of SC is more than that of Jats as this exercise is done on merit basis. No one can stop them.

Look, there are places where some people have faced discrimination. However, I do not want to give you examples. If I give an example, others will have problems. But I know there are problems with the commission. Let’s see what they do after all.

Talking about ‘The Kashmir Files’, do you think the present government is doing a lot for Kashmiri Pandits?

The central government has launched several schemes especially for their employment and rehabilitation. I haven’t seen the film. The problem is that the leadership in Kashmir does not know what they should talk about and what they should keep silent on. Who can deny that injustice has been done to Kashmiri Pandits.

And it is also true that nationalist Muslims who loved India and swore by Indian flags were killed. However, today’s leadership should refrain from making divisive statements just for the purpose of garnering votes. These votes will not unite people, nation and will not strengthen democracy. You should make such statements which promote brotherhood in J&K. Every day you wake up and hear him making statements on Kashmiri Pandits and Pakistan. Have you ever seen Mehboobaji protesting for Bijli-Pani-Makan-Shiksha (Bijli-Pani-Ghar-Shiksha)? The same Mehbooba ji used to say when she was the CM why these boys go to the camps of Kashmiri Pandits – just to get toffee and milk, and now that she is out of power, she is feeling the pain of Kashmiri Pandits.

The official agenda of the PDP has been “Na Grenade Se, Na Goli Se, Baat Banega Boli Se”, can Mehbooba Mufti lay her hand on her heart and say that she is still living by the words of her late father? When she was CM, do you know how many pellet guns were used in J&K and young boys picked up stones?

We are all professional cricketers, we have to work hard on our game, stick together and try to come back.”

C Mehndi’s England all-rounder Moeen Ali made 48 off 35 balls and after batting first took Chennai to 154 for 7.

Spinner Washington Sundar and left-arm pacer T Natarajan took two wickets each and checked the contrasting scoring with their disciplined bowling.

Moin and Ambati Rayudu (27) shared a 62-run stand for the third wicket as Jadeja scored 23 runs in 15 balls to increase the total. Moeen faced Hyderabad bowlers including pacer Umran Malik, who hit the fastest ball of the season – at 153.1 kmph – but conceded 29 runs in his three overs.
