new zealand: Rain interrupts play in second ODI against New Zealand with India on 22-0 after 4.5 overs

India were 22 for no loss in 4.5 overs against New Zealand when rain stopped play in the second one-day international at Seddon Park here on Sunday. Shubman Gill was batting on 19 and captain Shikhar Dhawan (2) was supporting him when the skies opened up.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl against India. A win for New Zealand would propel the hosts to the top of the World Cup Super League standings, while India need to win to keep the series alive.

The Black Caps won the opening match on Friday by seven wickets led by a batting masterclass from Tom Latham, who scored 145 off just 104 balls. This was New Zealand’s 13th consecutive ODI win on home soil.

New Zealand have made one change with Michael Bracewell in for Adam Milne while India have brought in Deepak Chahar and Deepak Hooda for Shardul Thakur and Sanju Samson.
