Not joining BJP, didn’t meet Amit Shah: Om Prakash Rajbhar

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party leader Om Prakash Rajbhar rubbished rumors that he had met senior BJP leader Amit Shah in Delhi and was set to join the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

Rajbhar told ET that he did not meet Shah on the day of Holi and that the picture is old 2018.

The rumors started when Rajbhar made a statement that he was aware of the defeat of the opposition after the first round of assembly elections. Last Friday, some TV channels reported that Rajbhar had held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi to discuss his involvement in the government. Rajbhar told ET, “I am in Lucknow and I have not been to Delhi. The picture that is being shared is an old picture from the time I was with the BJP.” “Those spreading such rumours should know that I was a minister in the previous BJP government, and I had left the NDA, leaving the minister’s post.”

Rajbhar said that both the parties will fight the upcoming elections together. “There are 88 seats where our alliance lost by 200-1,000 votes. There are 165 seats where we lost by 200-5,000 votes. Our vote share has gone up to 36 per cent,” he said.
