Opposing pavement prayers and questioning the decibel level of loudspeakers from mosques was once the prerogative of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, long before the BJP did the same in Haryana and elsewhere. The BJP and MNS aim to corner the Shiv Sena, which is now in alliance with the NCP and Congress, with an emotional issue just ahead of the corporation elections.
