KCR, who is in the capital on a private visit, is likely to visit Lucknow this month in an effort to garner support for his idea. The expected visit comes to a close after Banerjee’s call to hold a meeting of opposition parties in New Delhi and join forces against the BJP. KCR and Banerjee are coordinating the meeting closely. According to sources close to KCR, he may appoint his daughter and former Nizamabad MP Kavita Kalvakuntla, who posed a major challenge to the BJP in the recently concluded UP assembly elections, to initiate talks with Yadav. KCR is already in touch with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, who is expected to meet the Telangana chief minister ahead of the joint meeting of opposition parties in New Delhi.
KCR is also likely to initiate talks with the Left Front. The Chief Minister is planning a personal visit to Kerala for Ayurveda holistic treatment for lifestyle changes. He is expected to meet his close friend Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Sources said KCR had informally met Vijayan in Hyderabad when he was in the state capital for the CPI-M central committee meeting in January. However, there have been no formal talks on the Left Front joining the option against the BJP.
KCR initiated the process of a Third Front in Maharashtra during his meetings with Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Recently, opposition leaders have found themselves on the wrong side of central agencies. Pawar has claimed that the ED’s action against Thackeray’s brother-in-law was politically motivated and said he had raised the issue of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and his family targeting the ED with the PM. West Bengal CM’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee is also facing ED action in the money laundering case.
