Star India batsman KL Rahul on Thursday tested positive for COVID-19, which is likely to rule him out of the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies, which begins on July 29 at Tarouba. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly briefed about Rahul after the Board’s Apex Council meeting here.

Rahul had addressed the aspirants attending the Level-3 Coach Certification Course at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on Thursday itself.
Rahul, who recently underwent a hernia operation in Germany, has been rested for the ODI series against West Indies in Port of Spain starting Friday.
Ganguly also revealed that a member of the Indian women’s team that went for the Commonwealth Games was also suffering from COVID-19. However, he did not reveal the name of the player.
