In August 2021, the SC, in connivance with a Noida official, had ordered the demolition for violation of building rules, stating that illegal constructions would be dealt with strictly to ensure compliance with the rule of law.
The court had further directed that the entire amount to the home buyers should be refunded along with 12% interest from the time of booking and ₹2 crore should be paid to the RWA of the Emerald Court project for the harassment caused due to the construction of the twin towers . Which would have blocked sunlight and fresh air for the existing residents of the housing project.
