ashwini vaishnaw: No plan to privatise railways, says Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday reiterated that the Center has no policy of privatization of the national transporter and stressed the need to embrace the latest technology to meet the aspirations of passengers, especially in terms of safety and comfort.

Technology should be indigenous, like the contribution of Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Vande Bharat Express, and this sector should be taken forward, he said while inaugurating the 20th All India Conference of Indian Railway Mazdoor Sangh at Rail Mandapam, Perambur. Delhi. Vande Bharat Express was designed and manufactured by ICF at Perambur as part of the Centre’s Make in India initiative.

“Opposition parties are repeatedly alleging privatization of railways. I want to clearly state that railways is a very complex organization. There is no policy of privatization of railways. There is no such plan,” the minister said. He said that what is at the top of the mind (of the administrator) is better for the Railways and there is an attempt to take it forward.
