JEE Exam: JEE-Main first session postponed to June, second session to July

The first session of engineering entrance exam JEE-Main has been postponed till June and the second session till July, officials of the National Testing Agency said on Wednesday.

The first session was scheduled to be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and 1 and May 4, 2022. Now it will be held from 20-29 June.

Similarly, the second session which was to be held from May 24 to 29, will now be held from July 21 to July 30.

“NTA has decided to reschedule the dates for the first and second session of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main on the basis of several representations received from the candidates,” the agency said.

This is the second time that the schedule of the first session of the important exam has been changed. Last month, NTA had rescheduled it as its dates were clashing with the class 12 board exams.

Joint Entrance Examination-Main consists of two papers.

Paper One Undergraduate Engineering Program – BE and B.Tech – is conducted for admission to NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutes, and institutions and universities funded and recognized by participating state governments.

It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
