kolkata knight riders: IPL: Pat Cummins, Venkatesh Iyer shine as Kolkata Knight Riders register five-wicket win over MI

Pat Cummins and Venkatesh Iyer played brilliant innings of 56 and 50 respectively as Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets in the 14th match of IPL 2022. KKR lost wickets at regular intervals but in the end, Iyer and Cummins put together a good partnership. 25 balls to spare to register a comprehensive win.

Earlier, a brilliant half-century from Suryakumar Yadav (52 off 36) helped Mumbai Indians post 161/4 against Kolkata Knight Riders. Playing his first match of the season, Suryakumar played a solid innings with Tilak Verma (38 off 27) to get Mumbai out of trouble and help them put a fighting total on the board.

Apart from Suryakumar and Verma, Dewald Brevis (29 off 19) also played an entertaining knock on his IPL debut, while Kieron Pollard (22 off 5) allowed Mumbai’s innings to flourish of late.

On the other hand, Pat Cummins (2/49) was the most successful bowler for KKR, while Umesh Yadav (1/25) and Varun Chakraborty (1/32) also took a wicket each.
