Cinq à Sept Resort 2023 – WWD – Pen 18

Jane Siskin of Cinq Sept continues to evolve the contemporary brand into an updated interpretation of the bohemian lifestyle. For his resort offering, Siskin drew inspiration from Thea Porter (designer, artist and museum), incorporating elements from the 60s and 70s through Siskin’s bohemian lens. The collection is a celebration of the times – as travelers begin to venture out again on global holidays, Siskin offers a modern and advanced wardrobe through the use of graphic prints and bold color that intensifies the free spirit aesthetic.

sight: Free-flowing fashion with a dash of sophistication – through the use of embellishments and embroidery and a sense of ease in more structured silhouettes.

Quote of note: “We’re seeing a lot of self-expression, people less afraid of color, embellishments, it’s a fun time to do what people want, let everyone fly their freak flags — and this collection evokes that kind of spirit.” Wherever you can go.”

key pieces: a pearl and black tulip burnout print dress, a black crepe suit with floral embellishments in the form of custom bullion and beaded appliques (also over a white T-shirt for a more casual approach), silk Charmeuse top and skirt set of feathers with detailing, and a crimped pearl tone sequined suit (also available in a dramatic floor-length one-shoulder gown).

takeaway: Siskin continues to infuse the excitement of casual dressing by adding a dose of glamor to their commercially successful eye-catching outfits, tailoring and separates.
