India and South Africa were tied 2-2 after four matches.
After being put into bat, incessant rain delayed the game by 50 minutes. It started raining as soon as the game started.
The winding match began at 7:50 pm, but was called off after only 16 minutes of play, in which India could score 28 runs for the loss of two wickets.
Lungi Ngidi took both the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad on slow deliveries.
Kishan hit two sixes in Keshav Maharaj’s opening over but was undone by a slow delivery from Ngidi as he committed to the shot early and completed it.
Gaikwad too failed to pick up the ball at a slow pace and was dismissed at mid-on before heaven reopened to halt the series decider.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) later informed that they would refund 50 per cent of the ticket money to the spectators after the wash out.
