India head coach: VVS Laxman named India head coach for Asia Cup 2022

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday formally announced the appointment of VVS Laxman as the interim head coach of the Indian cricket team, which is currently suffering from COVID-19, in the absence of head coach Rahul Dravid.

Laxman, who was in charge of India’s ODI team in Zimbabwe, has joined the camp in the UAE along with KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda – who were also part of the Zimbabwe tour.

“The board is still monitoring Dravid’s health and we are still hopeful that he can join the team later,” a board insider told Sportstar. test in a day or two

Until there is clarity on Dravid’s availability, Laxman will lead the coaching front with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and batting coach Vikram Rathour.

India will play its first match of the Asia Cup against Pakistan on August 28.
