bangladesh: India to tour Bangladesh in December this year

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday announced that Team India will tour their country in December this year.

“Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the itinerary for the tour of India later this year which includes three One Day Internationals and two Test matches of the ICC World Test Championship Cycle 2,” the BCB said in a statement. ”

This will be the first visit of the Indian side to Bangladesh since 2015. The tour will begin with an ODI series with all matches taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The first Test will be held at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, with both the teams returning to Dhaka for the second Test.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan said it would be the most anticipated meeting of the subcontinent’s cricket rivals: “Bangladesh-India matches in recent history have given us some epic competitions and fans from both countries are eagerly waiting for another memorable series. I thank the Board of Control for Cricket in India working closely with the BCB to confirm the schedule. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh.”

Honorary Secretary, BCCI, Jay Shah echoed the sentiment felt by ardent and devoted followers of cricket in Bangladesh and India: “I convey my best wishes to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the upcoming bilateral series featuring India. India-Bangladesh competitions. generates tremendous interest among fans. Thanks to the fans of both the teams. We know how passionate the fans are in Bangladesh and I am sure they will be treated to some exhilarating competitions in both white ball and red ball cricket. With important World Test Championship points at stake, two Test matches are very important and both teams will work hard to win.”

Itinerary: Bangladesh tour of India December 4: First ODI in Dhaka December 7: Second ODI in Dhaka December 10: Third ODI in Dhaka December 14-18: First Test in Chattogram December 22-26: Second Test in Dhaka

Currently, both the teams are participating in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, which will start from 16 October and end on 13 November.
