In a notification filed with BSE, Zomato said that it has acquired stake in food robotics company, which designs and manufactures smart robotic devices to automate food preparation for restaurants.
In the filing, Zomato said that Mukunda’s products help the restaurant grow faster, while maintaining consistency in the quality of food and customer experience at the outlet.
“Mukund helps restaurants become more efficient by reducing manpower cost and wastage and increasing kitchen throughput. Our investment will help Mukund Foods to expand rapidly, drive down restaurant food prices, expand margins and increase customer delight,” the company said.
It stated that the investment was subject to the fulfillment of certain customary conditions and other terms and conditions agreed upon by the parties.
Mukund Foods Pvt Ltd was established in 2012 by Eshwar Vikas and Sudeep Sabat. According to the company’s website, it has developed six products that have been installed in more than 2,000 locations. It counts Wow Momo, Chaayos and Swiggy among its customers.
