mid day meals: In another intervention in LS, Sonia demands restart of midday meals

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday demanded in the Lok Sabha that the government resume mid-day meals as schools reopen after a two-year break due to the Covid-induced shutdown.

Intervening during Zero Hour, Gandhi said: “Children have been most affected by the pandemic. Schools were the first to close and the last to be opened. When schools were closed, the mid-day meal was also closed. People were given rations. As per the National Food Security Act and the Supreme Court order.
