Sonia holds more meetings with Congress’ change-seekers

Congress President Sonia Gandhi continued to demonstrate her engagement with the change-seekers, who raised their enthusiasm after the party’s latest election defeat. Gandhi, who had met Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday, invited Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari and Vivek Tankha to his residence on Tuesday to exchange views on the party’s crisis and the way out. Hope to meet more of his change seekers in the coming days.

The meetings, if for nothing else, marked a strategic departure from the Gandhi family’s apathy since December 2020, after last Wednesday’s call for ‘collective leadership in the party by change-seekers’.

Since both sides were aware of the issues – Gandhi said in a joint letter to 23 change-seekers, their subsequent demands at CWC meetings and last Friday’s expansion of Azad’s Congress parliamentary party include revival and an elected central government. The framework of collective leadership including: Election Committee – Tuesday’s discussion was more about the exchange of concerns.
