Hypegolf to Open ‘Clubhouse’ Pop-up on May 14 – WWD – Pen 18

Hypebeast will open its first Hypegolf Clubhouse on May 14 at 27 Mercer Street in New York City.

The temporary store, which will operate until July 21, will feature a surreal landscape and apparel installation showcasing an infinity playground in a black box, as well as a matte black and wood display unit and newspaper print photography.

Streetwear at the pop-up will feature several emerging and established golf brands including J.Lindbergh, Students Golf, Quiet Golf, Radda Golf, Malbone Golf, Metalwood Studios, Sena Made, Seamus, Foray Golf, Uncommon Golf, Putwell, MNML Huh. Golf, Manners, The Number 33, Solo and Bogie Boys, as well as host programming and activities such as Hyptalk panel discussions, golf lessons, a Trackman simulator by Five Irons, and viewing parties. The brand also designed a nine-piece unisex collection inspired by the Hypebeast Country Club held in La Quinta in April. Pieces include T-shirts, embroidered polo shirts, golf shorts, hats and bucket hats in white, black, green and polka-dot patterns.

Hypegolf is a community of designers, influencers, athletes, DJs, skateboarders, musical individuals, automotive personalities and golf enthusiasts that bridges streetwear and youth cultures with golf.

The concept comes amid the golf boom in unconventional golf communities. Golden State Warriors superstars Stephen Curry and Jordan Brand played a role in the game reaching a younger demographic. In addition, golf was one of the outdoor activities that thousands of people took up during the lockdown due to the pandemic.

Golf was a component of Hypebeast Country Club in April. The two-day event featured tennis, activism, a day-long pool party with DJ sets and collaborations with Michelob Ultra, Rimova, Ciroc, Psycho Bunny, Sergio Tacchini and Nocta.
