Ishan Kishan jumps 68 places to 7th in ICC T20I rankings

India opener Ishan Kishan has moved up 68 places to seventh in the batsmen’s list while the bowling pair of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal also advanced in the latest ICC T20 rankings released on Wednesday. Kishan, who has been one of India’s consistent performers in the ongoing T20I home series against South Africa, took a huge leap to break into the top 10 among T20 batsmen, scoring 164 runs in three matches including two half-centuries. Is. The 23-year-old is the only Indian batsman in the top 10, with KL Rahul at the 14th spot. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have dropped a place each to be at 16th and 17th position, respectively, while Kohli has dropped two places to be at 21st position.

Among bowlers, Bhuvneshwar has gained seven places to be 11th while leg-spinner Chahal has gained four places to be at 26th.

Australia’s Josh Hazlewood has regained his number one spot among T20 bowlers, while Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Thekshana has moved up 16 places to eighth.

In the Test rankings, pacer Jasprit Bumrah has moved up to third place behind compatriot Ravichandran Ashwin, who is stable at number two.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin, however, occupy the top two spots in the all-rounders’ list.

Rohit and Kohli have retained the seventh and tenth positions respectively among batsmen, while England’s Joe Root is at the top after scoring his second consecutive century in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series against New Zealand.

Root, who came within striking distance of Marnus Labuschagne after the first Test, has taken back the top spot from the Australian batsman, now leading by five ratings points.
