When she’s not filming for “Bling Empire,” Jaime Xie is going from one fashion show to another.
During Paris Couture Week, the socialite-heiress who is the eldest descendant of tech billionaire Ken Zee took part in some of the most exclusive runway shows, such as Balenciaga, Schiaparelli, Giambattista Valli, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexandre Vauthier.
If she had to pick her favourites, they would be Balenciaga and Schiaparelli, two brands she wears most often. She holds both creative directors, Demna and Daniel Roseberry, in high esteem, respectively, because of their creativity and craftsmanship.
“Schiaparelli is always very special because the way Danielle does fashion — it’s unlike any other brand,” Shea told WWD. “They’re real pieces of art. You can tell there’s a lot of thinking behind it, and it’s wearable art. That’s what couture is all about. For me, it’s always been an honor to be on their shows.” Because they’re just magical. When I see their collections, I realize that’s why I love fashion so much.”
On the other hand, Balenciaga, which Xie acknowledged, takes her top ranking of last week’s haute couture sweepstakes, a special one for her because of her close relationship with the brand and Demna’s out-of-the-box ideas. holds the position.
“You never know what Demna is going to do. For me, Balenciaga has always been a complete experience,” Xie said. “I love how they collaborated with Bang & Olufsen — a handbag that plays music? It’s not something you’d think of, but of course Demna did, and they brought it to life.
“I also love how it was so intimate. I think it was only 120 people. So I was honored to be part of the group they chose, because it’s nice to be part of something that Demna I’ve never actually been to a Balenciaga Couture show before,” she continued.
Though she’s attended Balenciaga runway shows regularly in the past, it marked Zee’s first time at the Spanish luxury fashion house’s couture show — and it was a memorable one.
With a star-studded lineup, both including Kim Kardashian and Nicole Kidman on the runway, and in the front row, a gorgeous, avant-garde wedding gown that went viral on social media. , Zee’s reasons seem reasonable.
It wouldn’t be a proper couture week without an array of over-the-top, memorable outfits for the socialite to complement.
For the Balenciaga show, Xie wore a red tracksuit in collaboration with Balenciaga and Adidas, which was unveiled on the New York Stock Exchange in May. “It was definitely one of my favorite and most comfortable,” she said.
However, her favorite outfit of the week was probably the most uncomfortable – a black leather one-shoulder dress by Rick Owens, paired with thigh-high leather boots with gold detailing, spiky, gold sunglasses and long gold. Accessorized with a nail attachment. But all is well in the name of fashion, Xie said.
“It really left a mark on my nose, which is the sunglasses I was wearing,” she confessed. “They actually cut my nose. My mom came with me to Schiaparelli’s show and she was like, ‘Jame, don’t you want to take them off?’ I’m like, ‘Of course I want to, but it’s not about comfort.’ Comfort – you have to throw that word out the window when it comes to clothing.”
As for her professional endeavors, Zee says the third season of Netflix’s “Bling Empire,” in which she stars as a lead, has already completed filming and is expected to debut in the fall. The second season premiered in May.
“There’s definitely some drama and stuff going on,” she teased the upcoming season. “If you thought season two ended abruptly, that’s because it will continue into season three. We shot it together.”
When she returns to Los Angeles, where she is based, Zee also hopes to work on a line of vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free desserts, something her viewers can enjoy despite their dietary restrictions. Although she is a vegetarian, Zee has a “huge sweet tooth”.
“In my spare time, I like to bake and cook. I guess I’ve never really shown that much,” Zi said. “For me, I thought my stage was more fashion, but my two favorite things are food and fashion.”
