The Indian defeated KD Evans Agnes of Seychelles 5-0 by unanimous decision to assure India of a medal to reach the semi-finals.
Ahlawat eased the bout after landing some big left punches early on, but Agnes showed a firm front by taking off a few shots of her own.

The third round of the match was one-sided as Ahlawat took over Agnes and emerged the winner easily by unanimous decision.
Earlier in the day, Amit Panghal entered the semi-finals of the men’s 51kg flyweight. The Indian defeated Scottish boxer Lennon Mulligan 5-0 in his quarterfinal match at the National Exhibition Center (NEC) in Solihull.
Ahlawat joins Mohammad Husamuddin, Neetu Ghanghas, Nikhat Zareen and Amit Panghal and Jasmine Lomboria in the list of Indian boxers who are assured of at least a bronze medal.
