Blackpink has landed a major US performance – the group’s first awards show.
On Monday, MTV announced more artists to perform for its upcoming Video Music Awards at the end of the month, a lineup that includes the popular South Korean all-girl group.
This will be Blackpink’s first appearance at the US awards show, where they will sing their new song “Pink Venom”.
In 2020, the group, which includes members Lisa, Jenny, Rosé and Jisoo, made history as the first K-pop girl group to take home the VMAs for their hit song “How You Like That”, which featured Song of the Summer. Won. grade.
Lisa, born Lalisa Morale, is also nominated for this year’s edition as a solo artist for her debut single titled “Lalisa”, which was released last year.

“Pink Venom” is the group’s latest single and will return after nearly two years. His last musical release was his debut album titled “The Album”, which dropped in October 2020.
The song is due out on August 19 and will be part of Blackpink’s upcoming second studio album, “Born Pink”, which is due for release on September 19.
While Blackpink has its roots in South Korea, the group’s global fame has accelerated over the years, becoming an international pop sensation. Since its debut in 2016, the all-girl group has broken many records with high traction on social media and YouTube, as well as an ardent fanbase called “Blinks”.
Blackpink will join a slew of A-list artists scheduled to perform at the show, including Jack Harlow, Lizzo, Menskin, Jay Balvin, Anita, Panic! At Disco and Marshmallow x Khaled.
The 38th edition of the prestigious awards show will once again be held in person at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on August 28. Last year, the ceremony was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
